This is 2020

It was a strange experience having to make a video recapping 2020, a year with so many historic events, while still living through it. But, I’m glad I did it, because it was a therapeutic step in helping me process that period. 

On top of it being an emotional challenge, it was also a technical one: curating so many photos and videos from the internet, working with low quality files, and applying motion to stills to make the piece more kinetic and cohesive--all while using a Macbook spec’d for basically just email. Working remotely in the early days of the pandemic was difficult in so many ways, but I’m very proud of how this piece came out.

From my previous work, people had told me they laughed or spent the rest of the day smiling, but this is the first piece where people told me they cried and felt a deeper emotional resonance.
