Allen + Marizza

When I shot this, I owned a GH4 with a speedbooster and 18-35mm Sigma lens. It was a very popular build for prosumer videographers at the time because the image quality couldn’t be matched for that price range.

But I intentionally left that camera home that day.

Instead, I brought along my older, smaller, crappier camera. Why? The GH4 would have looked like that day, but it wouldn’t have felt like it. I knew my little Nikon with a scratched lens, dead pixel, and my in-camera tricks were going to get me something a lot more emotional, nostalgic, and loving.
